Current COVID-19 Guidelines

Please review the most recent guidelines from the CDC in regards to isolation and quarantining for COVID-19.

Isolation: Individuals who test positive for COVID-19

Anyone who tested positive may discontinue isolation after 5 full days (day “0” is the day they first exhibited symptoms or tested positive) if they are either asymptomatic or their symptoms have resolved. They should continue to wear a mask when around others until at least day 10. If you have a fever, continue to stay home until your fever resolves. If an individual is unable to wear a mask consistently and correctly, they should a complete 10 day isolation. If an individual is a healthcare worker, they should follow isolation guidelines outlined by their employer.

Quarantine: Individuals who have had close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19

If you:

  • Have been boosted OR
  • Completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 5 months OR
  • Received the J&J vaccine within the last 2 months
  • Recovered from confirmed COVID-19 infection within the last 90 days (you tested positive using a viral test).

You should:

  • Wear a mask around others and monitor your health for 10 days. No quarantine required.
  • Test on day 5, if possible. (https://bit.ly/needtest) Not applicable if recovered from infection within the last 90 days.
  • If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home.
  • If you are unable wear a mask, you should quarantine at home for 10 days even if you are up to date on your vaccines.

If you:

  • Are not boosted and completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine OVER 5 months ago OR
  • Are not boosted and received the J&J vaccine OVER 2 months ago OR
  • Are not vaccinated

You should:

  • Stay home for 5 days. After that continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days.
  • Test on day 5, if possible. 
  • If you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home.

If an individual is unable to wear a mask consistently and correctly, they should a complete 10 day quarantine. If an individual is a healthcare worker, they should follow quarantine guidelines outlined by their employer.
