Culinary Supervisor

Our team is seeking a Culinary Supervisor to help build momentum to drive our culinary department to the next level. The successful candidate will focus on supporting the sous chefs through leading daily production, helping to train new team members and maintaining a safe and fun work environment.  This role is key to ensuring product fall within the client vision and company standards.

Description

This candidate has excellent food preparation skills, health code knowledge and the ability to train and produce according to timelines.  The perfect Culinary Supervisor will have small-company energy with expert navigation skills for completing assigned tasks independently and with a team. This is a full-time position with weekend requirements.

The primary job of the Culinary Supervisor is to collaborate with our team to execute production lists, train new staff and hold the team accountable to their training.  You may have specified production areas such as cold line, hot line, baking or events; however, you are expected to be able to cross train in holding all hourly team members accountable to our culinary standards and core values.

Responsibilities

The Primary job of the Culinary Supervisor includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Able to perform additional supervisory duties such as communication with purchasing manager when the chef is not on sight
  • Interact with suppliers to ensure quality and timely deliveries
  • Check in deliveries, following FIFO
  • Able to problem solve on the go
  • Participate and help lead mass production and small-batch recipe execution
  • Help to train and onboard new culinary team members
  • Hold culinary team members to our culinary core process.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of ingredients, in-progress items, and finished products
  • Ensure food quality and quantity according to daily production lists
  • Collaborate with peers and other departments to foster a team environment
  • Manage line presentation, including proper pans, garnishes, and serving temperatures
  • Support department leadership and managers on duty
  • Follow recipes and manage timelines effectively
  • Crosstrain to support catering operations as needed
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including regular deep cleaning tasks
  • Work event shifts in various BOH roles based on business needs
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by culinary leadership

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years in culinary role
  • Minimum 3 year in leadership role
  • Proficient in cold and hot production
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, stoop or reach for ingredients on high and low shelves, and stand for 8 hours at a time
  • Insurable driving record
